ડોર-બેલ વાગી , 

બા એ બારણું ઉઘડ્યું ને પપ્પા એ ઘર માં આવ્યા ,

ઓફિસે થી થાક્યા-પાક્યા આવેલા પપ્પા ને નાનકડી તમન્ના એ 'મસ્ત સ્માઈલ' થી ફ્રેશ કરી દીધા . 

તમન્ના મમ્મી ને સંબોધી ને બોલી ઉઠી 'પપ્પા આવ્યા ,પપ્પા આવ્યા '

પપ્પા નાનકડી તમન્ના ના માથા માં હાથ ફેરવી ને ટીવી શો-કેસ તરફ વળ્યા ને રાબેતા મુજબ ચશ્માં,હેન્કી, સ્કુટર-કી એક પછી એક આઈટમ ખિસ્સા માંથી નીકળી ને મુકવા લાગ્યા છેલ્લે વોલેટ મુક્યું , ત્યારે વોલેટ માં થી એક રૂપિયા નો સિક્કો  ફર્શ પર પડ્યો ખનનન ન  કરતો ...નાનકડી તમન્ના ના નાનકડા કાન માં એ અવાજ ગુંજી ઉઠ્યો , ને દોડી ને સિક્કો હાથ માં લાયી લીધો ને પપ્પા ને કહ્યું 'પપ્પા આ લો તમારા પૈસા... '

પપ્પા એ કીધું ' તું રાખ બેટા , તું એની ચો . . . . . . . . . .કલેટ લઈ લેજે આ વાક્ય બોલવા જતા જ હતા ને અટકી ગ્યા , ડોક્ટરસાહેબ  ના શબ્દો યાદ આવ્યા  એક મહિના સુધી ચોકલેટ, પીપરમેન્ટ, કેન્ડી , આઈસ-ક્રીમ ના આપતા નહિ  તો પાછું ગાળા માં ઇન્ફેકશન થઇ જશે ... 

પપ્પા એ વાક્ય તરત જ ફેરવી ને બોલ્યા કે તું આની 'ઢીંગલી'  લઇ લેજે ..તમન્ના એ જિજ્ઞાસાવશ પૂછી લીધું : પપ્પા આ કેટલા પૈસા છે ?પપ્પા એ તેને સમજાવતા કીધું કે ' બેટા , આને એક રૂપિયો કહેવાય , આપને મેલા માં જઈશું ને ત્યારે હું તને આની ઢીંગલી અપાવીશ , સાચવી ને રાખજે ..તમન્ના રાજી થતી દોડતી દોડતી મમ્મી પાસે જઈને , પરાણે કબાટ ખોલાવી તેનું  નાનકડું પર્સ નીકાળી ને  સિક્કો તેમાં મૂકી દીધો ને રમવા લાગી..

થોડા દિવસ પછી શ્રાવણીયા સોમવાર ના દિવસે બધા ભૂતનાથ મહાદેવ ના દર્શન કરવા ગયા અને ત્યાં જ ચોગાન માં દર વરસે યોજાતા મેળા માં ગયા  ને મેલા ની મોજ પણ માણી , ને નાનકડા ભયલુ અને તમન્ના માટે બે-ત્રણ ફુગ્ગા ખરીદ્યા , પપ્પાએ સ્કુટર ચાલુ કર્યું ને થોડું ચાલ્યા જ હતા ત્યાં પપ્પા ની આગળ સીટ પર બેઠેલી તમન્ના એ પપ્પા ને કહ્યું 'પપ્પા સ્કુટર ઉભું રાખો , મારી ઢીંગલી તો લેવા ની રહી ગઈ ....

 પપ્પા એ ચાલુ સ્કૂટરે ( થોડા મુન્જાઈ ને )  તમન્ના ને કહ્યું : અરે બેટા તારું પર્સ લાવી છો ?

તારો રૂપિયો તો એમાં છે ને દીકું , આપણે ફરી આઠમ ( જન્માષ્ટમી )  ના મેલા માં આવીશું ને ત્યારે લઇ લેશું .. ઓકે બેટા ..!!

તમન્ના : ઓકે પપ્પા ... 

ઘરે આવી ને થાક્યા પાક્યા સૌ સુઈ ગ્યા ... 

થોડા દિવસ પછી આઠમ આવી ,

બધા મેલા માં જવા ની તૈયારી કરવા લાગ્યા , 

નાનકડી તમન્ના ની યાદ દાસ્ત ને દાદ દેવી પડે .. તેને મમ્મી ને કહ્યું મમ્મી મારું પર્સ આપતો ...

મમ્મી હસતા હસતા જાણે એની વાત સમજી ગયી , પર્સ કબાટ માંથી કાઢી આપ્યું ..     

બધા મેલા માં ગયા ,

સૌ પ્રથમ મંદિરે દર્શન કર્યાં ને મેળા માં ગયા ...

ચકડોળ ને બીજી બે-ત્રણ રાઇડ્સ માં બેઠા ,

નાનકડી તમન્ના પણ બધા માં બેઠી ને મેળા ની મજા માણી રહી હતી ,

પણ એના બાળમાનસ માં ઢીંગલી જ રમતી હતી .. ને આજે પર્સ પણ સાથે હતું ને પર્સ માં એક રૂપિયો પણ ...

આખરે એ ના રહી શકી ..

પપ્પા ને રમકડા સ્ટોલ તરફ આંગળી ચીંધી ને બોલી  .... પપ્પા ચાલો મારી  ઢીંગલી લેવા , ચાલો ને જલ્દી ... પ્લીઝઝઝ ..

પપ્પા સાથે તે સ્ટોલ પર ગયી પપ્પા એ ચાર-પાંચ ઢીંગલીઓ જોઈ , સારા ટકાઉ મટીરીયલ ની સુંદર મજા ની એક ઢીંગલી સિલેક્ટ કરી ,

જે તમન્ના ને પણ બહુ જ ગમી  ..

થોડા ભાવ-તાલ કર્યાં ને પછી રૂપિયા પચાસ માં એ ઢીંગલી ખરીદી ને તમન્ના ના હાથ માં આપી ..

ત્યારે જે ખુશી તમન્ના ના ફેસ પર હતી એ લાખો રૂપિયા ની હતી ... એને ભાવ-તાલ સાથે શું લેવા-દેવા ..?? પણ પપ્પા ની વાત અલગ હતી ...

પણ પપ્પા સારી રીતે જાણતા હતા કે પાંચ-સૌ રૂપિયા ની 'બાર્બી-ડોલ' સામે કઈ ના હતા ... 

આજ તમન્ના ખુબ જ ખુશ હતી ને એ મહત્વ ની વાત હતી .. પણ પપ્પા એ તમન્ના પાસે એક રૂપિયો  માંગ્યો   ' લાવ પેલો રૂપિયો , તારી ઢીંગલી લેવી છે ને ... આ ભાઈ ને આપવો છે '

તમન્ના એ  તેના નાજુક હાથો , નાની નાની આંગળીઓ વડે ધીમે ધીમે પર્સ ખોલી ને સાચવી રાખેલો સિક્કો કાઢી ને પપ્પા ના હાથ માં મુક્યો , પપ્પા એ તમન્ના નું ધ્યાન ફેરવી ને સિક્કો પોતાના ખિસ્સા માં સરકાવી દીધો ,

તમન્ના તો એમ જ સમજી 'એક રૂપિયા ની ઢીંગલી'  આવી ..  ને ખુશી નો કોઈ પાર નહિ  ... સૌ ઘરે આવ્યા ... 

તમન્ના તો આખો  દિવસ 'એક રૂપિયા ની ઢીંગલી'  જોડે રમ્યા કરે , સુતી વખતે સાથે , જમતી વખતે સાથે સવારે ઉઠી ને પેલા ઢીંગલી જ શોધે ..

કોઈ પૂછે ' અરે વાહ , બેટા ઢીંગલી તો બહુ સરસ છે ક્યાંથી લીધી ? કોને અપાવી ? 

નાનકડા હોંઠો થી ઉચ્ચારણ કરે ... આખું વાક્ય આ રીતે ... 

' મેલા માંથી , એક રૂપિયા ની આવી .... સરસ છે ને ... મારી ઢીંગલી છે .. કોઈ ને નહિ આપું ...

 કેટલી ખુશ છે તમન્ના ...

પપ્પા આ લખી રહ્યા છે ત્યારે પણ તમન્ના તેની એક રૂપિયા વાળી  ઢીંગલી ને બાજુ માં સુવાડી ને કહી રહી છે ... ' ચાલો સુઈ જાવ .. ચાલો જલ્દી ફટાફટ સુઈ જાવ ... તો હું કાલે તને મેલા માં લઇ જઈશ ..
